A special  party:

On June 6, 2006 (6-6-6), a special "666" party is scheduled in Michigan...

Here are a couple stories about how Hell, Michigan, was named:

In the 1830s, some Germans stepped out of a stagecoach and one said, "So schoene hell" (~ "So bright and beautiful").

After Michigan gained statehood, George Reeves, the town's main founder, was asked a what he thought the town should be called. He said, "I don't care, you can name it Hell if you want to." So they did.

On Oct. 13, 1841, it became official; if it were 3 years sooner (Oct. 13, 1838 ), it would have been on a Friday.

If any of you intend to attend the party, you can go to Hell !!!
(It's not often I get to say that) 8)

If it's judgement day I'm glad we're getting it over before I have to go to college and stuff.

Anyone going to any 666 parties?  I've got a guy in my psych class throwing a big one.

A little twist: the name George Reeves predated Christopher Reeve as Superman. ??? Hmn... ::)

... and thanks for not mentioning my spelling typo: the first thing I noticed when the page loaded was 'schedualed' staring me in the face instead of the proper 'schedule'. :P
??? Huh, what do you mean, "Who cares about spelling at a time like this?" :D

I wish I would have thought about the date this morning, I would have wore my Satan shirt to work, or maybe I would have taken the day off and went to Hell. (only 100 and some miles from here.)

We have decided that since we missed the 666 party in Hell, that we would go to Hell on our vacation, considering that I have lived in Michigan most of my life and been all over the state, I have never been to Hell, so this summer we are going to Hell.

Being a Christian, I could care less about 6/6/06.. I only know of it as just another Tuesday.. and the 62nd annviersary of the D-Day invasion.

I agree 100%.  To me it ment a little more than that because it was one of my friend's 21st B-day.  As for the numbers containing 6-6-6, it means nothing to me.

Well, it's way past 6/6/06 and I have yet to see gouls, goblins, strange pentigrams, nor flying furniture. So just another day and another dollar. ;D

I'm old enough to have talked to a few that served way back then: "D-Day was Hell and the day of the beast!"* :'(
