Posted: Sun May 14, 2006 1:05 pmWell I have to say I'm NOT impressed by the freedom of the press here in Hungary. Some investigative journalists decided to prove that the traffic wardens in Budapest are crooks by going undercover and bribing them 'cos the police wouldn't do anything about it.
So they did an excellent expose showing how for 2000Ft you could get away with not getting the ticket 'cos your parking ticket ran out 3 seconds before you got back to the car.
So the police have arrested the 3 journalists and given them criminal records and spent over 1,500,000Ft on finger printing, hand printing, DNA testing and photographing them.
The corrupt traffic wardens haven't been arrested
