Fun Sim flying v a full, real flying occupation..?

Hello Lads...!

I'm just wondering, as a regular computer game player and flight simulator enthusiast for many years, just how many folks here are REALLY interested, and can afford the many thousands of Pounds/Dollars in obtaining a Private/Commercial Pilots Licence, and taking up a full-time occupation involving flying REAL aircraft for a day-to-day living...?

As an example; How many Microsoft "Train Simulator" enthusiasts actually end up as train drivers...?
...and how many "Need for Speed" enthusiasts actually end up as racing car drivers...?
...and how many "Doom 3" enthusiasts actually end up joining the Marines...?
...and how many "Bass Fishing" enthusiasts end up as Trawler men in the North Atlantic Ocean...?

Paul...just curious...and trying to be realistic, as usual..;)...!

PPL a few weeks away-with any luck, the USAF after that, and then commercial after that (if no AF, then straight to commercial after a full college degree, maybe masters)

i have been flying the 22squadron Seaking and Boy was it fun :D there are some pics on the site
As for my Carrer i plan to get a gliding scolarship ( So i can go solo in a glider when i am 16) and then go on to get a scolarship from the Raf and Become a pilot (hope fully fast jet)
My interest in aviation has come from my father who was in the process of getting his ppl before i was born but then he met my mother and gave up
and my grandfather Owned a Proctor 5 & Flew short sunderlands in World war 2 and went on to fly bristol freighters for the rest of his carrer

And my Great grandfather whas a Genral in the army according to this silver tin i have awarded to him by princess beatrice on leaving the afgan campain in 1878

And Some of my family have been in the navy so i wouldnt mind going in either 3 of the services but i would prefer the Raf

Sorry for the family history ::)

I plan on getting my PPL down the road, but not until after I finished all my education and I have about 5 years of that left.

I've just started my PPL at the end of 2005 - doing it as money permits, which isn't ideal - but it gets me 'up there' & it all adds up.

Although ideally it would be better to be able to do it all in one go, or at least twice a week.

Cheers

TSC.

I hope to become a Chartered Accountant and work my way up through the ranks of the money side of things.
I would like to obtain my PPL after I have been to uni. But the poll means Commercial - so no.
