The Philippines

Postby Scorpiоn » Mon Mar 06, 2006 6:18 pm

Remember when the Philippines was having a bit of a storm over impeaching the President?  Well I found this article.

http://english.vietnamnet.vn/internatio ... 02/544692/

Pretty ho hum yes, until I saw the date: 24.2.06.  What?  Wasn't that a couple weeks ago?  Why wasn't this in the news?  If George Bush sneezes it makes headlines, yet the enire fate of a country was nearly changed and all we heard about was the inane drivel of oscars or golden globes or some other worthless award show.  All these shows ought to be napalmed.  Everything from the red carpet to the stupid little "goodie packs" the professional liars get for showing up.

Good to know we're being kept up to date. ::) This is why I stopped watching TV and just keep a list of sites to check every now and then.  Random Googling doesn't hurt either.  And Simviation. ;D

I was actually thinking a more international approach.

BBC, Al-Jazeera, Mainichi etc.

Forget TV and buy some serious newspapers to get informed.

But wait...for sport events TV is still unbeatable.  ;D

I never listen to any news at all. Unless, of course, it's about good things [like fund raisers, technology improvements, etc.].

"Serious" , "newspapers" seem mutually exclusive nowadays.
