Sure thing.
but it's down now.
"Per NCAA and Gonzaga University student-athlete rules, I have decided to shut down my current auction since I respect their wishes. Once Adam Morrison is no longer a student-athlete, I will start a new auction for the item. Look for this auction to start again around the date of the NBA draft in 2006 or 2007. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused."

This is a general rule blanketing all student athletes in America. Your not allowed to make any money from your name/appearance. Which is ironic considering thehuge amounts of sponsorships which go into college sports TV productions. Richie and Bman could explain it better.

I know that NCAA athletes can't profit from their sports in any way. They can't do commercials or anything like that or sell autographs or anything. Anything on eBay must be owned by someone else who is selling it (autographs and such).
As for the gauze pad, I would think this would fall under that same rule. So, really the owner could sell it if he wanted to. Perhaps Morrison or Gonzaga requested the guy pull the auction.
I also thought that eBay had a rule against selling "body parts and fluids" but perhaps I was wrong.

He's more than "just a college basketball player" to fans of the sport. I'm not a huge basketball fan, but Morrison is one of the biggest NCAA stars at the moment. So, yes he is just a college basketball player but he is a very famous one.

Is it really true that the Gonzaga University basketball team is one of the top college teams in the country now?
Yes, they are currently ranked #5 in the nation. Over the last several years they have had high ranking teams and made it to the NCAA Tournament only to lose early in disappointing fasion. So, we'll have to see if they do the same thing again this year.
But, most people seem to think that this is the best team they have had. One of the big reasons is Adam Morrison.

You should come here. The local news teams probably spend almost as much, if not as much time talking about the Gonzaga University Sports teams than the weather

It's a smaller school. It's a private Catholic University in Washington.
