No real differance to any other snow dome. Perhaps a little bigger. As for gas prices. when your paying $6+ a gallon then you can really complain. And yep we get it from the same places. I must ask though, how do you know this was paid for by gasoline money? Sorry not a jab at you personally Dave. Looks alot nicer than Tamworth snow dome:)

I am not having a jab at anybody or where this is either.
Somebody sent it to me.

I have never seen one of these before Craig. You mean there are others?

I guess if you do not have mountains or the weather to support skiing conditions, that a man made project like this at least will give you some perception of what it is all about.

I dont know if there are other buildings that look like that. But snow domes yes. We have one near here called the Tamworth snow dome. Just in a rather large building.

Snow domes? :o

Sorry, but for someone who is used to seeing snow all winter, and in the mountains 6-7 months out of the year, the idea is a little amusing... ;D

But, a lot of people who live in warm climates have never seen snow, so I can see how it would be exciting to be able to play in the snow indoors in the hottest regions of the world.

250 euros/hour...

i don't know how much an all-in trip with helicopters and so on to Demavent (yes... that's the ski outing for the saudi sheiks...) costs, but it surely is a gap in the market that they are trying to fill

A great peice of engineering and to have that in the desert too is quite a feat. 8)

On the other hand, from an engineering standpoint, it really is an interesting project!

As for gas prices when we pay nearly $7 a gallon in the UK - I think we have much more to cry about. I think the US folks could start by reducing the car weight and sizes down a bit before speaking. ;)
