The Super Bowl

Postby Craig. » Tue Jan 24, 2006 8:37 am

Well firstly I want to say thank you to all those who took part in the weekly pool again this season, thanks to Richie and Bman especially for your continued help with information on the game:) I hope you'll chose to take part next season I'll do my best as always to get the results up but I already know I'll be going to a couple of games next season so i might need a hand to cover those weeks.
See you all again with this in September.
Onto the game.

Seattle @ Pittsburgh:

Yes Pittsburgh are the home team as the AFC won last year.:)

Seattle @ Pittsburgh: Pittsburgh

I would like to see Bill Cower and Jerome Bettis finally get one.  Plus, I have the feeling that Ben Roethlisberger is beginning the career of an NFL Legend and will need a Super Bowl ring (and probably the Super Bowl MVP).

Seattle @ Pittsburgh: Pitt

I am, of course, kind of an NFC guy, but the Steelers are from PA and I'm definitely a Bill Cowher person-I really like the guy, I think he deserves one.

Oh, and I also think the Steelers will win.

Gotta admit I wouldn't want to bet on this one. But I'm not a bandwagon fan. I've been rooting for the Hawks since '79. And they've been hard to stick with some seasons. Well they're finaly in the big one and I gotta pull for them. Some teams I learned to hate - usually because they rivals - The Broncos, Cowboys, and The raiders. Cowboys just because I got sick and tired of hearing how they were "America's Team". As a Seahawks fan I always seem to have to deal with disappointment. They always seemed to choke in the end and they never got any respect from the league. Still don't mostly. But here we are in a game I've personally waited for for 25 years. "Maybe next year" is starting to leave a sour taste in my mouth.

Don't know enough about the Steelers to say anything bad about them. Actually what can be said bad about a team that gave us one of the all time greatest moments in Football history? Franco Harris and The Immaculate Reception against the Raiders at Three Rivers.  But that's history. A new team and another chance at glory in the single most watched sporting event  in America - The Super Bowl. They call Baseball 'America's Pastime' maybe. Maybe not. I can't think of any other game that brings so much exitement, anger, passion, loyalty, cursing, and heartache. Wether it's high school, college, or Pro, Ya gotta love the guys who try to maim each other then 5 seconds later slap eachother on the ass and say"Good job". ;D

Keni ;)

Go Hawks!!

Interesting the poll shows different.

Pittsburgh. Plus it'd be nice to see The Bus win in his home town. :)

Craig decided to treat himself. Bought this Jersey, only 100 being sold in the UK.

Quite nice really, the Numbers and name are stitched on instead of the usual print.

Aaaaaaaaah! The jersey that made me hate Denver! ;D

Just because they were usually the ones who knocked Seattle out of the running when they were in the same division. But don't get me wrong, Elway was an outstanding QB. Probably one of the best who ever played.

LOL ;D
Ironically the Broncos real success didn't come till they ditched it.
I am not to sure the Browns were fans of it either. :D
