I'm guessing it wasn't a "spur of the moment" kinda thing. ;D

I saw a pic of that, not the video. That's crazy!

I'd hate to imagine how high the jump was in order to get 80 skydivers in that formation. There are no rookies in that formation. It takes incredible skill to control a chute like that. :o

Yep, I was one of those that jumped out of perfectly good aircraft. Crazy, maybe, but good Lord, what a view!

UN-FREAKING-BELIEVABLE!

What I really wanna see is all the planes carrying them ;)

I'll have to download it tonight....

I've gone skydiving once. It was one of the most exhilerating things I've ever done. I thought about going through the course and getting my certificate, but my naturally, my Pilot's license is more important 8)

btw, Romulus, one of my Drill Sergeants was in the Airborne Infantry, and once mentioned that when jumping with a lot of other people, it was scary to have air stolen from you. What exactly does that mean?

The only thing that crosses my mind is how dangerous that is!

All to often we've seen videos of two chutes getting tangled and such.  But then again, this could be like videos of airplane crashes.  Since when did a three point landing make the news?

I wonder what the risk of colapsing the person's chute below you is with a formation like that.  Can't you colapse another chute by being above it?

It's basically the same concept as when race cars draft one another. If you fly below a skydiver it will cause dead air, turbulence above the other person in freefall.

Missed this one- I'm pretty sure that there was probably more than one aircraft involved.

That is VERY impressive. I've never tried and kind of formation stuff like that just link-ups in freefall. That ROCKS 8)

They are all staggered to eliminate the chances of being affected by dirty air.
