My whole life - work and personal - are on my Ipaq and flash drive. I don't know what the hell I would do if I lost them. The flash drive pretty much stays in my puter at work and only comes out on the weekend, but my Ipaq goes everywhere with me and I mean everywhere.

Scary how we are slaves to technology these days.

My dad was just talking about this the other day-his laptop, blackberry, phone, etc. all contain extremely sensitive information that people do occasionally try to get their hands on (cut throat pharmaceutical industry, I tell you). He showed me the digital password reciever thingy he carries around-his password changes every ten minutes.  He's constantly reminded not to lose anything.  The corporate world is definitely fully aware of this problem.

Simple solution. You dont keep everything important on one harddrive. Or other form of storage system.

Actually, NOTHING on your computer would be of NO use to YOU: you'd just have a blank screen. ;D 8)

There is a safety chain made for a Briefcase.
It could probably be applied to a Laptop.

There are such chains available. I was shopping at the local BX here on base and saw a handful of them.
