Really? If I ever witnessed something like that, I would probably be a little extra cautious when being around running engines, but I'm sure I wouldn't have a problem with flying again.

Posted: Mon Jan 16, 2006 10:46 pmThere was a similar case years ago onboard a Navy carrier when a crewman on the deck ran past what looked like the "Intruder" [name of the aircraft] and was sucked in through one of the intakes.
Fortunately for him, his gear got caught somewhere inside and has kept his head a mere few inches from the compressor blades. He was a lucky guy.
However, I feel sorry for the recent case that just happened.

There's alot of similar cases, it happened on the aircraft carrier my dad was on during Vietnam. He said there wasn't much left to send home.
Pretty bad situation.
