Counting down towards the New Year. It's about 1230 hours [12:30 in the the afternoon] in Sydney, Australia. So, about we all have about 11.5 hours left before the Aussies light up the explosives pretty lights. ;D

It's 7:32PM CT right now in the US. It's also still Friday over here. So, in about 11 hours, I'll switch on the news to see what fireworks display the Aussies will show this New Year.

I'll be going to a party tomorrow to celebrate with my friends.

What are you guys gonna do?

I actually have the night off for once, so I'll be using the excuse to get disgustingly drunk. ;D I haven't done that in a long time.

It's just another night at the desk.

You may have crossed out "explosives" due to their 'terrorist' event a few weeks ago, although that wouldn't really be a celebration (for most), so we hope things remain, though maybe not tranquil, peaceful. 8)

3:30 AM here...Another 20.5 hours to go :P

20.5 hours short of a year ago i was standing in a circle with about 30 close friends, 20 or so of their friends, and my girlfriend, shot glasses in hand, proposing toasts and keeping the whiskey flowing after each one...Said the new year would be better then the last, everything would go great, everyone would enjoy it, raised our glasses in memory of those who we all lost over the year, a toast to honor those friends over in the Middle East who couldn't be there, promised the tragedies we had faced would not repeat themselves...

05 has proven to be anything but what we had hoped for...2 friends lost to suicide, 2 lost to a car accidents, 6 lost to other causes, family tragedies, job losses, personal accidents & misfortunes, heartbreaks, and other hard times :(

We have a tradition here.  As 05 rolled in, 3 bullets, with 3 names engraved on them, were fired into the sky, 3 times glasses were raised in memory.  Tonight it will be 10 new bullets...10 new names...10 more times those glasses shall be raised :(

05 can kiss my ass...shall 06...bring change & relief...

The future can bring many surprises. Sometimes, those surprises are not what we expect. :(
