This joyriding nonsense started many years ago so this is nothing new. The name makes it respectable so they should call it stealing which is what it is, not to mention driving below the legal age with no licence or insurance. The police themselves are partly responsible for it so they have no right to start criticising now. I was horrified when a young lad we had just taken on in the workshops at Crawley told me that a police officer had visited the school he'd just left specifically to explain to the pupils their 'rights' according to the law. He apparently told them that breaking into a vehicle & driving it around for fun was perfectly OK just as long as they didn't damage it. This was back in the 1970s.

Steady on Paul. I wear a baseball cap at air displays & often turn it back-to-front to avoid it being blown off my head by the prop wash of the aeroplanes I'm trying to take pretty pictures of. I also have a nice fur-lined jacket with a hood on it to protect my lug'oles in this chilly weather. Dont tar all us hoodies with the same brush.

It's just that every time I see "Baseball" caps, especially worn in reverse, it reminds me of the recent British imports from America... Los Angeles, etc criminal gangs which now have infiltrated London, and the major cities of England...

The infamous American reversed baseball cap seems now to have become a trade mark in our English criminal society...
The hat may, or may not, be a practical form of headdress. but it now has connotations of dubious activities...

Actually, Govenor Jeb Bush has just signed into state law that Florida residents are now allowed to "shoot" at anyone who is threatning their life and/or property. Besically, it's common sense. It also sends a clear message. You rob somebody or threaten somebody, you run the risk of getting shot. Period.

In the past, before the law, criminals would exploite the "retreat and hide" policy of Florida [that policy is now gone] and rob and/or kill somebody without getting shot. The retreat policy also made it impossible for residents to protect themselves because, if the thief got shot, that thief would then sue because of the policy. Well, that's no longer the case.

That's how it is in Oregon.  If someone is on your property and is posing a threat you can shoot them and its perfectly legal.  I honestly think thats the way it should be.
