i tend to hate it, but watching turkish competition on trt makes you wonder what has happened to the european competition where players collapse when someone points their finger at them

My interest for it is at a low point at the moment, but I still have a soft spot for Club Brugge!

Never been much of a soccer fan. I played it when I was smaller, but never aspired to much. Some of my friends are going to college from scholarships for it though. That's the way to do it.

IMHO you should change the title of the thread to Football the one and only kind! :P

Yay PSV also made it into the next round of the Champions League!  ;D (good for the dutch football!)

I lost interest in pro football many years ago when it first became big business rather than sport. All you get now is one team of highly paid players from all over the world against another team of equally highly paid players on the other side. Usually, but not always, the team with the highest paid players wins.

Most of the big teams are made up of expensive foreign players, some of whom can't even speak the same  language as their team-mates or the manager, instead of home-grown talent that they've trained themselves from young boys. If they do happen to have a talented home-grown player who they might have spent years encouraging, another team will come along & snap him up before he's any use to them. I really don't see the point. ::)

I'm a life long Notts County fan. Pamela and I used to be season ticket holders but these days we only see about two or three games a season. Most of my friends and family support Forest (sad people).
