NFL oddity ... for CraigL

Postby Omag 2.0 » Wed Nov 30, 2005 7:03 am

I'm not much into American Football, but this morning I saw an item they even showed at the Belgian television...

Apperantly an Eagles fan jumped onto the field during the last game, took out a bag of powder and released it while running across the pitch. 2 Security-guards followed him and took the guy out.

He explained his mother used to be a huge fan of the Eagles, but never got around to see them for real. So the guy spread the ashes of his belated mother on the field during a game, to make her dream come true... Guess she got really close to the players that way...

The idea was nice, but the realisation perhaps a bit less subtle...

Uhboy...  ::) I'm sure security was thinking: "Anthrax!!" at first; good thing they didn't just shoot him...
He might've been better off approaching maintenance personnel after hours with his touching story- they could've put her remains in a seed spreader or something and really done it right.
But it's probably Astroturf anyway...

The last thing I would want to do to my poor mother is spread her around Lincoln Financial Field. ::)

They could at least try to do it properly. I mean, proper UK style Rugby/Cricket/Tennis streakers... ;D

Mind you I don't suppose the US Police have the comedy helmets to cover up the offending privates...

Australian ::) Michael O'Brien, Twickenham 1974, England v France...

Found that pic on a very funny website, devoted to Britain's best streakers, but I shan't post the link here. This is a family forum...

At least they would be kept company by Jimmy Hoffa.
