If I'm reading it correctly the world's going to end on December 21st, 2012 A.D. Nothing too serious & I wouldn't worry about it.![]()
You didn't even read it, did you?![]()
Let me see..... argh..... *head explodes*
*Kaboooooooom*
the world's going to end on December 21st, 2012 A.D.
Shoot, couldn't they wait to destroy the world until after Christmas.![]()
The Mayans are not the Aztecs (Aztec civilization peaked a fair amount later and the Mayans were still seperately, and the descendants of both are yet, extant).Aztec end of the world. They're all dead now. Have been for a while. I don't think we need worry.
The actual account states that the Magi arrived later, finding Him in a house. They weren't at the manger scene (that was the shepherds).Just before baby Jesus was found by the three wise men.
The 'canonized' biblical account doesn't really state where/when He was born but, rather, that He was put in the manger. Easter/Passover was taken into account, assuming an (inverted) 9-month period of perfection and the "coincidental" pagan celebration of Saturnalia....according to history itself, no one is sure if he was born on that exact date. Centuries ago, even the most brilliant minds were struggling to figure out when he was born. The only reference they had were based on astronomy [Jupiter was in a certain position with Earth during that time]. So they took a guess [and a well educated one as well]. The 25th of December.
Are you so sure we're still living, Tacit, and not a pigment of our own (or other) imagination? Is this like how the world was going to end in 2000? and then when it didn't all of the doomsday people were like "oh, our mistake. It's actually going to end on the new millenium... next year". Now heres an interesting discussion: I had no doubt in my mnd that the world would not end and everything would just keep going as usual, but I still flinched when the clock rolled over that night. Then I immediatly wondered why.Did that happen to anyone else?
