Well doesnt really bother me either way. But the red busses have always been a good tourist attraction so loosing them probably isnt a good thing.

I liked them, but so long as the red bus itself stays I don't mind too much. It is like the black cabs. The old ones look the nicest, but I don't mind them letting them go so long as the black cab itself stays albeit in a newer model.

London's loss will be gains for tourist areas around the world..

I wouldn't be surprised if some (more) make it to Orlando and other areas.

Somehow these busses are just part of the London scenery! Just like those Morris-taxi's.

Oh well, it's called moving forward I guess.

This doesn't happen exclusively in England.  Here in Winnipeg, they torn down an Eaton's building from the 1920s to make way for an arena.  That building was featured in a lot of movies, and I was disgusted to see it go!

im glad i made the most of them this week.
i've got a photo of me on my phone sitting upstairs on the 159 to marble arch, whilst reading the daily mail :)
another icon lost.

safer than routemasters my @rse. a news article from earlier this year shows how three of them exploded by themselves because of design flaws

The roads in london are small, bendy buses are twice the length of the route masters (and wider).

The only thing bendy buses do well is cause traffic jams !!!!!

I shed no tears for the old "Routemasters" , they have poor visibility and an equally bad turning circle.

I've had many a close call with one when trying to negotiate my articulated truck around them!

The bendys are far more manouverable, it seems, however, I do know the standard of training the "bendy" drivers get is superb, and it has to be thus with Londons mad road layout.

As for fires, they should have chosen Scania's as a chassis, I'd rather walk than take a Merc.  :-*

I'll drink to their demise and eagerly look forward to that by-pass for Stone Henge  :D, I hate the A303 at the best of times, bloody stone hugging tourists just clog up an already inadequate road.
 :P ;D

You can't hug the stones anymore Scania. They've been roped off 'cos of all the feckin' travellers writing their names on 'em ::)
