Small world for simmers.

I just was thinking about things.  One thing i've noticed is how small the world seems to be for those of us in this aviation/sim community.  All of us come from dozens of nations but our common interest in aviation and other things seems to make those borders invisible and we all get along greatly.  It's a shame that doesn't happen with people in general.  There would be a lot less tragedy in the world.  I really truly wish it were possible for everyone here and at avsim to have a get together and enjoy some flying, both real and simulated, knock back a few cold ones, and trade tall tales.

I think the same can be said for any community of like-minded people. I've found that most people I've met with an interest in aviation tend to be much the same as me & we obviously get on well. These can be people of all ages from pilots to aircraft spotters. This also applies to aeromodellers, photographers & musicians, my other main hobbies. This is why I recommend joining a club or organisation where you can actually meet some of these people rather than simply chat to them online. I've made a lot of really good friends in all these areas over the years without whom my life would be much poorer. I've added to this recently by meeting some of the members of this forum. I haven't been disappointed yet & they are among my circle of close & valued friends. I hope they think the same about me. ;)

We'll have to organise a landaway to Hungary Mark. Is the beer cheaper? :)...

*Flies off to the UK*

If only supersonic, low boom air taxis ever become an affordable to a poor bum like me reality.  Still, that would be a challenge.  Being a yank used to nothing stronger than Molson XXX (8%) I would probably be under the table before too late in the evening knocking them back in London with all that gang, lol.

Beer is rather cheap over here Charlie, about 50p a pint in the pub or about 20p a bottle in the shops. The local wine is also excellent and reasonably priced ;)
