I was never that keen. It's quite popular around here though.

I went this summer up in northern Wisconsin and all in one cast I casted onto a pier, had a bat hit my line and get tangled in it for a moment, then I caught a bass all while some crazies on the shore were shooting fireworks out over the lake just a few yards down the shore from us. :D

Just got done fishing... started at  6 P.M. headed home at 8 P.M. caught 1 bluegill about 5 in. long, and one rock bass about the size of my thumb. not too bad for first night-fishing expeirence.

Yeh I go all the time with my friends, and just camp out...mainly go for catfish, which is one ugly looking fish.

I used to fish a lot, often at night and like jrpilot said your best bet is catfish, put a big gob of nightcrawlers on the hook and let it set on the bottom, they will eventually come along and almost always swallow the whole mess. Walleye will also hit at night and sometimes bass if you are in a boat and cast toward the shore.

Not so much these days but I used to do this quite often. A couple of pals and I were very into catching Carp and we had some very good nights out on the River Trent and local Gravel pits. With Carp fishing you simply crah out in your little tent and go to sleep because when you get a take the electronic alarm wakes you up.
