MAXX YOKE

Well I bought this unit with rudder pedals when FS98 first came out so I guess it owes me nothing.

When I pull back on the yoke the aircraft will not climb, I have asked a computer person to look into the unit for me to see if it can be fixed.

The Maxx yoke made by "The Maxximum Company" at 205 S. 20th Street, Nampa, Idaho 83651, United States is the address on the box but I can find nothing on this company.

If anyone has any information on this company please let me know.

May have to look at a new complete unit.

open it and check for broken wires and dirty potentiometers..

If in doubt, post some pictures if you can

There could be a broken lead or bad connection between the unit and the computer, including at the pin connector; next, as Ivan says, check for a broken lead or circuit trace connection (loose solder joint) inside the unit .
A lesser possibility would be a control chip inside the unit.

As for trying to contact the company, perchance it yet exists, try calling information for Nampa, Idaho and ask if there's a local number for them.

And last but not least, potentiometers are not immortal. You may need to replace one of them, that is if you would rather not replace the whole unit.

just open it and take a few pictures from the inside so you can put all the stuff back again (and to show us what it looks inside)

I'm sure you can get a potentiometer for it if you need to. Just look at the number on the pot, I would guess its around 75k Ohms to 100k Ohms, then go to radio shack (or similler electronic supply) and pick one up.

One of the young lads that drops in has taken it to see what can be done with it.

I guess he is into computers quite heavily and he feels he can get it up and running for me.

Right now all I have is the C172 to bash about the puffy wuffies with and to chase them dang Herc pilots away from my strip

We are so busy outside right now I have little time for instrument flying on the computer anyways.

Well the lad got back to me about my control yoke and he has been unable to find this part in Belleville or Trenton Ontario, Canada.

He has been on E-Bay and no such luck either.

The part we need is:
Slider pot meter
100K
3 inches long

He will try Radio Shack when he gets to Toronto, Ontario but until I can get that part I shall not be sim flying.

May have to purchase a new control yoke with rudder pedals and if I have to do that I shall have Future Shop build me a new system.

I fundamentally use FS2004 for instrument and failures but would actually would like to do more when time permits and weather is bad.

If you have any comments on the type of control yoke and rudder pedals I should purchase please post.

I do not use a control stick nor have I tried one.
