Better buy fuel.....

Postby jrpilot » Wed Aug 31, 2005 5:45 pm

Well if you live in the United States.

1 gallon of fuel here yesterday was around $2.80 tommrow it is jumping $.60.... :o

I think we will have to start rationing fuel.... :-/

I can see big cities going to the $4.00 mark even though Europe pays a lot more...still it is unbelievable....glad I don't have an SUV

Gas prices at the Jersey shore are at $3.40 for regular. That is unheard of.

Still around $2.80 by me.

and my advice to americans, get used to it. Even the experts are saying its unlikely to change. Also take this into account. While the US pays alot less for gas than most of Europe, the average single person and family income is actually higher. Most people i see complaining are owners of these big trucks and SUV's, if you desperatly need them for work or legit reasons then so be it, if not get a smaller car.

They're saying that Katrina effected the prices. Bull-oney. They oil you're putting in your car now has probably been stored for three weeks. Looong before the hurricane.

most likely but 3 weeks from now thats when it has the knock on effect. Its going to be a while till they get back to full production again. I am just not sure how much of an effect on prices it really should have had.

One local station is only taking cash for gas.  One station is out of regular and does not know when they will get a delivery.

Just as a side note as to how desperate some people think it is there. I would buy a gas cap with a lock on it if you dont already have one. It is becoming more common that people are stealing the gas from peoples tanks overnight.

Well at least some of you still have a chance...8:15 AM on the way to vocational this morning...$2.56...12 AM on the way back...$3.29 :o  There is 6 gas stations in this town...4 of them are out of gas.  All i know is that a $.70 jump in a matter of hours is %@#$ing rediculous and I dont care where you live >:(

I see where you are coming from Craig.  Out in the school parking lot there is a ton of big trucks.  Now considering the its a farming community...Ill say probably around half of those people have not a single excuse to own one.  I have one for work simply because working at 2 farms Im stuck hauling stuff several times a week...Cant do it with a car and cant work there if I cant haul :-X  So gas goes up even a dime it hurts.  I could barely afford my few bills as is.  I cant go without gas...but I cant afford $130 every week eather :-/

I just get a little highly pissed when in government we discuss how the oil companies have had 30% to 51% increase in profits over the past year.  And yet our prices just keep going up up and up.  It may not hurt some people...But when it comes to people like my mom and I who barely make it paycheck to paycheck and going into debt over other problems...Its bad...Since I was 16 Ive worked and provided for myself as much as possible.  Right now there are things I need and cant afford...Clothes...I have a 6 shirts for school...4 of them have holes...Its going to be a cold winter at this house...Cant afford a $400 gas bill every month.  Furnace will only be keeping the house about 55 degrees so the pipes wont freeze.  Only reason I even have the internet right now is because of school...and that we are locked into a contract for another 3 months...if it wasnt for the $300 breach of contract fee it would be gone too.

So thats where I come from...I know there are people who have it worse...especialy since Katrina virtualy wiped out entire cities...But I hate seeing some rich @#$%@# sitting in a multi million dollar home and several expensive vehicals sitting in a garage.  >:(  The little people just keep catching the $#*^ in all this...and im tired of it >:(

Well here its over three dollars a gallon, the extra taxes we have to pay for "the enviernment" is BS.  There is really no legitimate reason why we here in the US are paying high gas prices, I heard in a news article that oil company executives salaries went up 500% we still have at least half of our oil reserves left on the planet, and their greed is really starting to piss me off. I remember not too long ago gas was about $1 a gallon, why we cant get back to that i dont know .  But the hurricane sure as hell is going to raise our gas prices a lot because many of the refineries are in that area.

And everyone in europe stop saying we have it good, we've never seen gas this expensive (with exeptions) cheap things is an american way of life Ex. walmart, the dollar store, cheap gas, cheap land, rip off brands from mexico, imports from china......... you get the picture
