All,

I would like to know are there any programs that will record the audio portion of a DVD? I have NERO,but I don't think it will record only the audio protion of a DVD.

Thank you
Clown

Anything that will record "what you hear" straight off your audio card output will do the trick. I use the software that came with my Creative SoundBlaster card.
I think DVD encoding applies only to the video signal, not audio...

Hi,

this might work. Go to www.download.com and look for a program called AoA DVD Ripper. It can take the soundtrack of a DVD and copy it.

Good luck,

Crash ;)

Actually, the audio tracks on DVD are sometimes encoded - but only if you use S/PDIF - for instance, I can't record audio via digital inputs with my Edirol UA-5 because the digital code on the DVD sends a flag to my audio interface, thus locking it up until I restart it.  Therefore, I have to use RCA cables - thus only lower quality, 2-channel sound.
