That name sounds so familiar. Who was it?
So sad.

Peter Jennings was a news anchorman for the nightly national news here in the states, I can't remember the station he worked for.

That's sad. I have watched him for years and didn't know he had cancer. he was a great broadcaster... :(

One of the few real news men. I remember hearing that he had cancer, but they made it sound like it wasn't very serious. I figured he would recover. I remember watching him during 9/11 and you could tell he had been at that desk for like 14 hours, but he stuck with it. I will miss seeing him on the news.

Sad, he had a good voice for news.
Didn't he smoke cigs though?

He did, then he quit in the 80s some time, then started back up again during 9/11.

It really is a shame to hear... as Tacit said, he was one of the few REAL newsmen still around.

Not to bag on him, but with everyone saying oh it's such a tragedy that he died, nobody's really come out and said that this was a completely preventable death! And I'm not saying that he wasn't a great newscaster. But I guess I don't appreaciate him because I haven't been here long enough...
