10 days is a bit too long...............

Postby Fly2e » Tue Aug 09, 2005 10:16 am

To be without SimV!!  :'(

Hey all, I have been way on a little vacation with the wife & kids since last Saturday, July 20. We just got back last night. My in laws live in Cape Cod, Massachusetts right on the bay. It was a blast.

Brought my mountain bike up this time and biked the entire rail trail there. Went on a deep sea fishing boat, played some golf, spend lazy days at the beach, boiled a few lobsters, flew a kite, barbecued on the beach! Went hiking and Kayaking in a few "kettle lakes", took my 2 little girls on a Pirate boat, had a few lobster rolls, Tangureys and tonics started every day at around 4pm  ;D

Had a great time and the weather was in the low 90's and sunny everyday!

I will post a few pics when I get a chance as I am buried under crap here at my office and wish I was back in my hammock under my tree..........   8)

Not when you are drooling on the beach with a cooler by your side while the waves lap at your toes  ;)

btw I love mountain biking, its the one semi-athletic thing I can do really, really well

Me too!!
I bought a sleek looking "rear seat" for my 3 1/2 year old and I think she was the reason I biked a few miles every morning. She loved it!!

The bike trail in Cape Cod is the old rail road line that runs through much of the Cape. It is real nice. The day I biked the whole thing, I was alone. Packed some snacks, took the Nikon and just hit the trail. Stopped at clam shack on the way there, and an outside beach pub on the way back fro a few refreshments!

WOW! What a fantastic trail! I did some great biking in Aspen recently-about a 3 hr trek starting at the top of a mountain and riding down, probably the best riding I've ever done-but I also like trails like the Cape Cod one, even though I get these incredible urges to just speed right through em ;D

Mountain biking::)?
Ah, guys, Massachusetts may be New Hampshire's neighbor but:
compared to the Rockies, New Hampshire is nearly flat;
compared to New Hampshire, Massachusetts is underwater.
Nevertheless, glad you enjoyed yourself 8)

In my younger days without kids, I used to bike Bear Mountain, Hunter Mountain and a few others. Take the ski lift up with our bikes on the lift behind us on a nice fall day, couldn't beat it!
But nowadays it would not be that safe to do with a three year old in the back  ;)
