It's on the south side of the Tri-state tollway (I-294) in a town called Justice.

http://www.nbc5.com/news/4770310/detail ... ppid=65192

it happened right by the 82nd street toll.

short story: no deaths, minor injuires to 5 people aboard. pilot manuvered helicopter to avoid hitting cars, hit sound barrier wall and fell onto the Inbound (to chicago) shoulder.

congrats to the pilot for doing what he could.

PS. if you can figure out the names to the Chicago expressways and the correponding nterstate numbers, kudos. here's the numbers: I90, I94, I90/94, I290, I294, I355, I88, I55, I80, I80/94, Rte53, Chicago Skyway, & the EOE (Edens-O'Hare Expy (Which doesn't go to O''Hare))

have fun with that!

everyone is alright.

2 are still in the hospital, but they'll get relased tonight.

NTSB expects a finaly analysis in several weeks. w/e...

best part, they crash onto the expressway, they belong to IDOT (Illinois Dept of Trans.) and the Illinois Tollway. etra work on the road is in order.

I do have to commnd the pilot on not only avoiding traffic, they avoided traffic and the 82nd street toll plaza, which was recently rennovated to accomodate the new I-PASS lanes.

they belong to IDOT (Illinois Dept of Trans.)

Am I the only one who thinks that looks unfortunately like IDIOT?

I do have to commnd the pilot

Sorry but I get a little tired of this sort of comment every time there's an accident. The pilot was doing his job, what he'd been trained for. Remember it's his skin too & he's usually at the pointy end.

PS. I'm well aware there are female pilots. I'm fed up with being gender-specific & before all this political correctness the masculine was used to indicate either gender. About time we had one pronoun that applies to both males & females.
