But because i'm not 16 yet I can't get a proper job, so any ideos how I can make some money for a few months till i'm 16?
The law on the employment of young people states you may work for a maximum of:
2 hours on school days
2 hours on Sundays
5 hours (if aged under 15) or 8 hours (if 15 or over) on Saturdays
8 hours on weekdays during school holidays, with an overall weekly limit of 25 hours (if under 15) or 35 hours (if 15 and over)
and depending on the company will look the other way as to the hours you work.
The best they did was give me 5 days off paid.
most do here, even as i was coming to the end of my time there they had the younger kids working the warehouse. its not that difficult. generally though it would be required two people under 18 had to lift the heavier things like TV's, washing machines and so on. Although again that was a newer thing when i returned after a year away. when i started out i was left to do these things alone. Good for building up strength if not a little dangerous.I really don't think they'd have workers comp for teenagers, Hype. Proabably after you turned 18, yes, but you wouldn't be working in the warehouse under 18
