Its taken a long time but justice has been done. The speed with which the case was resolved was rather fast, but this guy was clearly guilty, i hope he spends the rest of his life behind non-airconditioned bars in the summer heat of central mississippi.

I hope the worst possible things happen to him, i hope he forgets his iv when going to prison, or i hope there is no toiletpaper when he needs to wipe his @**

It is not just him who is guilty, and others will not be punished for their deeds. He has been in many ways made the scape goat for this so others could be let off...
Also spare a thought for his family as they are innocents and will be punished by their neighbours and colleagues everyday for the rest of their lives just for their accidental relationship to him.

It's a good film but really shocking, shocking how people can be like that

What I have often found disturbing was that many most all of the African Immigrants in the Southern States at the time were beautiful people and didn't deserve their misery...

Now, their decendants living in Los Angeles, Oakland, New York, Brixton/London/England, etc, etc, all seem hell bent on creating mayhem....!

This isnt the first case of this Ozzy another one happened about 15 years ago i believe and was also the subject of the film. Hopefully this will encourage more cases to be brought infront of a jury and that people will turn over names of those who are guilty of these crimes. Mississippi is perhaps in the final generation of those who are from that time, there is still tension amongst those who were around back then in MS. Its not a huge thing but even i could see it and hear it in some people and it really shocked me.

We learned about this in 8th grade, it's good to know somebody has been brought to justice, no matter how old they are.  America must attone for it's atrocious, racist civil rights track record in the past.  The senate apologizing and this man being convicted are two small steps

I have no idea on the KKK. My Texan friends have mentioned bits to me - but I have no idea of anything. Any murderer deserves the worst life going though in a civilized society though and I hope he feels it.

Well yeah I heard of them. They are an all white organisation that hate blacks. My friend said a black would be killed if he went in certain areas by KKK members. He also said school boys join it to look big and tough and so they have youth support. I don't think they rival Hitler though.

You'd be surprised.  Very surprised.  If a black person looked at the wrong person they could be killed.  It's one of the only two things I'm embarassed about my country-the KKK and Mcarthysim (slavery too, but that falls into the general realm of civil rights, which I represent as the KKK )

wasnt just black people. As has been the thing with this case. Anyone at the time seen to be helping black people during the civil rights era and even in some cases modern times, are liable to be killed or hurt badly.
