I really dont know why, but this case is just getting to me.
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u ... ssing_teen I must say i am starting to agree with this statement.
Holloway Twitty has said that if investigators do not make progress soon, she might start believe they are trying to protect the detainees.
I dont think this girl is dead, however right now i have the horrible feeling she is currently somewhere in south America being used in some form of slave market/ prostitution ring, and every day these guys stall the investigaters just makes it that much more impossible to ever find her.

The problem with that theory, Craig, is that to enter any South American country (legally) would require a passport, something Natalee does not have in her possession. (It was found in her hotel room.)
Of course, only a true MORON would try to bring her into another country legally. That only leaves illegal entry as the option. It would be incredibly difficult to bring a blonde American girl into any South American country without someone thinking her out of place.
I'm on the fence about this one. Half of me thinks she's got to be dead. But then there's the other half that says "Hey, Aruba is not a big island. If her body were lying somewhere, they'd find it."
I'm learning a little bit about Dutch law through all this, and it's amazing to see how very different it is from American law.
I've seen quite a few things that I would have done differently, had I been in charge of the investigation. For starters, it wouldn't have been two weeks before I brought in a FLIR equipped helo. That's just way too long.

Hype these people smuggle girls into places like Columbia venuzuela and brazil all the time. Changing her appearance wouldnt be that difficult, hair dye and because this case took 3 days to get full exposure that would have been pleanty of time for her to dissapear. I am almost certain this side of it is being covered by the American authoraties and i wouldnt be surprised if a team of Navy SEALS wasnt in the region waiting for any news. I agree they should have found something on an island the size of Aruba by now. However this new info on the DJ and the boat, could suggest they could have dumped her body 20 miles offshore and they would never find her, or it could have been used as the transportation. All this info is slowly coming out, but the key word is slowly.

Excellent points, Craig.
I'm also split on another point. While I in no way want to sound like I'm saying "She was asking for it", I do have to ask (as I have frequently offline) what kind of girl goes off with guys she meets at a club in a foreign country? And what kind of friends see her getting into the car and don't find it odd?
The fact that they SAW her getting into the car and didn't question it leads me to believe that it wasn't an uncommon occurrence for this girl. At least not so uncommon that her friends thought "Maybe we should remember the license plate."
Sad case, that's for sure. My heart goes out to her family.

A good example why Americans should stay in the U.S. unless it is absolutely necessary for you to leave the country for some reason. Just my opinion.

just remember that the antilles are a banana republic... with all the corruption that comes with it.
Only major employers are tourism and the oil terminal at willemstad.
If you have to believe the dutch news, the unemployed part of the population is either busy being bored or is playing criminal there or in holland...

I hate to say this but being a banana republic doesn't make it a corrupt country. It merely means that everything is based around the growing of banana's.

in dutch 'bananenrepubliek' (banana republic) means that it's a corrupt mess...

It gets that reputation. But originally a banana republic was a government installed by the empire in a country where they would then grow and export bananas.

They say it wasnt their responsibility to watch these kids day and night.
Oh I agree completely that it's up to the chaperones to watch these kids, and I'd even say it's up to them to watch them day and night...
Sure, they need to sleep. But when my wife went to Disney with her high school class, the chaperones had systems in place so that if they so much as opened a door after curfew, there was someone there asking why.
There are ways to keep your eyes on someone when you're asleep.
