I think the guy's theory is intersting, but I can't see it being a more likely cause than crucifixion.

and read the quote under the title, when was the last time jesus was on a plane, I ask you!?!

As for the air travel reference in the sub-title, maybe there was a confusion between the "crucifixion" and "ascension" terms.

Can someone explain to me how this isn't in blatant violation of the no religion rule?

Don't get me wrong, I personally wish we COULD talk about things like religion and politics here.  They're some of my favorite topics to debate.

But lately it seems the rules have gone completely out the window.

And as for what Jesus died of, well, he didn't die remember! He rose on the third day and went off to heaven, alive.

Jesus.  The crucifix.  Apparently we have different definitions of religion.  This seems pretty clearly a religious thread.

Jesus DID die.  John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

I'm not sure where you heard He went to heaven alive.  The entire principle of the event was that God gave His only son as a sacrifice.  He was pretty dead.

He later rose as evidence that He was in fact the Son of God.  

Is this religion yet?  I wouldn't want to cross that line.

well lets NOT push the limits and find out. this is somethings interesting to talk about, dont want it locked because someone pushed it to the limit.

I honestly think this is plausable. it probably gives scientists something to do rather than make diet pills that don't work.

I can sit here and think that because crucifixtion used to be a common form of execution and it's fairly widely acknowledged that Jesus existed whether he was the son of god or not. All this thread was about was this doctor putting forward another potential cause of death for crucifix victims which he applied to Jesus as an example.
