I think that's the Real Air Spit in #1.  I sent them the link to let them know about it...

Well by the looks of it this guy has been selling these "photos" for some time now.  Probly making a nice profit as well.  But it makes me wander how many people thought these were real.  Any simmer knows those are just screen shots from what looks like FS2002.

I was reading some of the feedback and found this:

Misleading . Poor copy off net. SAVE MONEY PRINT EM YOURSELF. Avoid.

Reply by praub7: was good scan of the original that i own, and i stated it was a copy,ta for neg

Sounds to me like he is trying to pass them off as eather real photos or poster like :-/  Screen shots dont need to be scanned :-/

So whos up for tipping off ebay and shutting this scam down >:(

The one on the link to No2 is definately FS. I'm not sure about the other one though, the clouds and prop, not to mention the pilot makes me believe it's the real deal.

EDIT:

I emailed this guy personaly earlier.  Just got a reply.

[color=Red]Hi there, these are not reprinted copies but originals bought from The RAF Museum in
Hendon. And they and many others are bought by me on a regular basis. This is one of
the many thousand they sell each year under licence. I buy the pictures, posters or
in this case postcards and professionally mount and frame them, they are not printed
in house.
I will be going the Hendon again in about Three - Four weeks to top up my stocks.
Have another look at my feedback and you'll notice only one or two people over my 18
month trading history have accused me of selling cheap copies. 99% of the stuff I
sell is bought from Museums, collectors fairs etc and if you look at the sort of
stuff I buy on ebay you'll notice that I buy a lot of postcards and pictures from
ebay itself. Proving further that I do not download. This is a business and illegal
business's do not last long . And either way if I was going to be illegal do you
really think its worth my time mucking about with

I see no mention of copies. If what he says is correct he buys postcards & frames them.
You are bidding for a picture of the Spitfire in a new  walnut veneer frame. The pic is 7"x 5" and the frame is 11"x9".

I don't think there's anything illegal in that. I don't know how much he pays for the postcards but a decent frame would cost more than he's asking for the complete thing.

I am suspicious. Museum pics are of high quality and very professionally taken. If people are complaining of it being grainy etc... - well I have yet to see a grainy picture from a museum.  ::)

Also, if it is FS - isn't that against Microsoft liscence?

I have a copy of it hanging on my wall. I'm looking at it now. Signed by Ray Hanna & a little gift from the OFMC for services rendered. It's one of my prized possessions.

Personally I think you're making a fuss over nothing. I've seen plenty worse scams, if it is a scam. Prints of these photos are readily available as postcards or special prints like mine. I framed it myself & it would be quite legal for me to sell it so it's quite possible this chap's telling the truth. The screenshot would be just a pretty picture to anyone not familiar with FS.

I don't know, but I totally love the fact that I fooled myself into thinking a real photo was FS9.  It shows you how much the line has become blurred by the quality of the planes...  ;)

Here's a few examples of John M. Dibbs' work. His photos are well-known & featured in magazines & company calendars for many years.

John Dibbs | John known for impossibly sharp and clear photo renditions of every aircraft type imaginable -- spotlessly restored warbirds, fabric-covered crates from the dawn of flight, modern military jets, and even the Concorde. Having photographed everything that flies in Europe, he has recently located to Seattle. With his wife Pam and the faithful Rachel Wisby he runs the Plane Picture Company, a full-service assignment and stock source for superb air-to air photography. John uses Canon 35s -- film only -- and a Kenyon gyro stabilizer for matchless resolution.
