Prison VS Work

Prison

Now I am not really thinking about this however I thought it would be interesting ;)

THESE ARE SO DAMN TRUE!!
PRISON VS WORK.
Just in case you ever get these two environments mixed up, this should make things a little bit clearer.

IN PRISON........you spend the majority of your time in an 10X10 cell.
AT WORK..........you spend the majority of your time in an 8X8 cubicle.

IN PRISON.........you get three meals a day.
AT WORK...........you get a break for one meal and you have to pay for it.

IN PRISON..........you get time off for good behaviour.
AT WORK............you get more work for good behaviour.

IN PRISON.......the guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you.
AT WORK....... you must often carry a security card and open all the doors for yourself.

IN PRISON........you can watch TV and play games.
AT WORK.........you could get fired for watching TV and playing games.

IN PRISON......you get your own toilet.
AT WORK........you have to share the toilet with some people who pee on the seat.

IN PRISON..........they allow your family and friends to visit.
AT WORK...........you aren't even supposed to speak to your family.

IN PRISON.........all expenses are paid by the taxpayers with no work required.

AT WORK..........you get to pay all your expenses to go to work, and they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for prisoners.

IN PRISON.......you spend most of your life inside bars wanting to get out.
AT WORK .......you spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars.

IN PRISON ......you must deal with sadistic wardens.
AT WORK.........they are called managers.

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

As a Tax Payer Andrew I don't find it a joke.

In this country "Canada" prisoners are treated better than Veterans and Senior Citizens.

Prisoners now have the right to vote and many prisons have a union for prisoners.

There is a prison not far from here that has either a 9 hole or 18 hole golf course.  There female friends can visit in private trailers.

No I am afraid I don't find our prison system a joke at all.

lol.....mmm.....just one or two flaws in the argument.....

1. You get to go home to do what you want in the evenings after a few hours.
2. You get cash in your pocket for doing the work
3. You can get to nice restaurants instead of eating crap.
4. You also get to take out good looking women too.

.....just a few of the side benefits of being free.......there are many more.....

.....main thing is that work is maybe 8/5 and prison is 24/7..............

.........see yah on the outside....commoner ;D

Hi commoner :)

Here prisoners get minimum wage for what they do and they are encouraged to work.

The prisoners here eat better than most of our senior citizens or our military.

About every three or four years Volunteer Fire Departments can purchase stainless steel cooking utensils, including pots and pans, stainless steel salad bars, ovens etc. and some of this stuff is like new.
This can be purchased from the Prison System.  What a waste.

However I do agree with you it is much nicer to have ones freedom. ;)

Not only us "free" people have to pay our own bills we also pay the prisoners bills as well.
Truth is prisoners have many things better than us, no bills, more rights etc.
The most recent are the prisoners here in the US trying to get Cell phones! It is thier "right".  ::)
Take away thier cable TV and it is "in humane"  ::)
I'm sorry I'm a firm beliver that you do something that puts you in prison you just gave up any and all rights you once had!

I am with you there. If the prisoner is a murderer then he deserves very little rights as he has denied a person the right to live, which surely is the biggest right anyone could take away from anyone

...couldn't agree more..BUT how do you get "the powers that be" to agree and change things?..............they are more of an "enemy" to us than the cons ..IMHO ....commoner

Heres one:

In Prison - bad stuff happens in the shower
At work - you shower before you get there and dont have to worry about it.

'nuff said. I think Ill stay free, thank you.

On a seriouse note, This reminds me of that article Doug (Hagar) posted a while back about prisoners wanting to get a windmill-generator shut down because the flickering light that it caused bothered them. ::)

AMEN Brother.

If you did a crime, do the time. it's almost going to turn into prisoners are going to commit crime so that can just go back home and hang out. at the rate  we're going, we might as well just say, "here, we'll take out those bars for you if they're annoying."

At the end of the day, after an honest day's work, the free man goes home, to rest and relaxation (or a family).  Whereas a prisoner stays in the same place years on end, no change, nothing typically exciting, and you sit in a concrete 8'x6' hole.

Dunno what prisons are like in Canada, but they can be pretty hellish here.  There are prisons in the US that are literally hell on Earth.

Now I'm not saying anyone should not be punished, just that that little analogy doesn't exactly make me want to go to prison.  I know a guy who was there and saw someone get raped with a broom handle...

Hi Jordonj

Here we don't call them prisons.

We call them Holiday Inns.

They are even getting golf courses now, they now have the right to vote as well. :( :( :(

To think my tax dollars are paying for this.
