What have the BBC done now?

From the lunchtime weather, all I could make out from the colourful new graphics was:

a) most of the UK was due to become a sandy desert by 1600 BST today.

b) the rest of the UK was going to turn into Glastonbury - ie a muddy bog by 1600BST.

c) Norway was having snow.

d) It might rain. Somewhere.

Well done BBC. What's going to happen now? How about getting La-La from the teletubbies to present it - it might become more clear...

glad i am not the only one who dislikes the new weather charts.

I get the idea, sometimes, that the people at the top of the BBC are not aware some of the crap radio programs and radio presenters down below who continually annoy me every day, and cause me to switch off... ...!
eg: The "Silly Boy", Jeremy Vine...
Steve Wright, "I love me, I love me. I'm wild about myself!"
Jonathan Woss, "Why can't I speak pwoperly".
Chris Moyles...a real nasty bit of work...!
The rude presenters, men and women, in the various news programs!
Etc, etc,....
...and that's just the RADIO... ...!

No, but about eight of us at work thought we'd go and point and laugh. Then we phoned the met office and had a giggle with them... We'll never take the pee out of the met men at work ever again!

Some hopes of that happening Paul. They always know what's best for the viewer - I don't think. Doesn't matter what we want. ::)

I rather like Steve Wright myself. Can't say I know Chris Moyles but I agree with your other choices though. I never could stand Jonathan Ross & Jeremy Vine is not in the same class as our Jimmy & never will be. You can add that silly moo Sarah Kennedy to your list., Listening that stupid woman's inane chatter is enough to drive me right round the bend. I pity her other half. I can only suppose he's as silly as she is & they deserve each other. :-/

I suppose it's a discussion point but I can't understand how people can get so upset with their radio sets.....?

Mine has got a switch that turns it off, which gives me the opportunity not to listen - this enables my stress levels to remain within acceptable limits.     If you find yours doesn't have a switch, try turning it off at the wall or removing a fuse from your meter-board  ::)

When the BBC only has 4 National Programs, switching one off because a particular presenter is becoming increasingly annoying, results in a sudden loss of all radio entertainment for the duration of that particular program....and we don't have a very big choice of radio programs here in England.
My radio set is my only source of news and entertainment throughout the day.
If it wasn't for Terry Wogan and Ken Bruce* in the mornings  my radio listening would just about be nil... :'(...!

Not upset with the radio sets but the decline in broadcasting quality over the last few years. Not so long ago I could enjoy Radio 2 at any time of day. Since it became popular with the younger generation they're gradually replacing the old presenters I liked with these new trendy types. This seems to defeat the object but what do I know?

PS. I have a radio alarm clock & when Sarah Kennedy* comes on I immediately leap out of bed to avoid her senseless chatter. I suppose that's one good thing anyway.

*PPS. She used to be alright but she's now a charicature of her former self. I think she bases herself on a New Zealand radio presenter back in the 50s or 60s. She was a pain but at least she was original.

I have to leap across the room before the first note of the signature tune leaves the loudspeaker.
If I can't quite make it in time, I count the number of notes that I have allowed to escape before I got to the off-switch...Buggar... >:(...!

As this topic was about the new BBC TV weather graphics I'll get it back on topic, so we can avoid the Terry Woganish inane radio chatter from our resident grumpy old men.

I agree with you Charlie ........ I went to work at 05.30 hours having watched the BBC weather on News 24. The last broadcast with nice easy to see symbols and actually accurate for once, I was damp all day.
After a day of  having to put up with the majority of Sarah Kennedy's show (for once my truck was loaded when I got into work ..... couldn't avoid her  :( ). Terry and Ken were on their usual form ...... Jeremy Vine was of minor interest and slimey as usual ...... I switched off before Steve Wright (he's nearly as annoying as Sarah Kennedy). I arrived home and the first weather report I saw was for our local news at nearly 19.00. My first comment ........ how are we supposed to see whats going on ........ and how are OLD people supposed to see whats going on. The graphics are terrible the wind and weather boxes that they use provide no context (I haven't seen a full report though)  ...... they would have been better going back to the old magnetic symbols at least they provided some amusement value.
