CNN reported that the gear and the flaps have been retracted and that the behemoth is flying at 10,000 feet above the pyrenees right now. This is immpressive. What a milestone for European aviation! :)

It also gave them a chance to test the handling abilities in take-off and landing config, and to start pushing the envelope.

No offense but im surprised that CNN would use the reporter theyre using on this job. His teeth are crooked and he seems to shout into the microphone as though he's trying to talk to someone on the other side of the world. BBC has brought in experts such as the editor of flight international and have a much more docile presentation of this historic event.
