I like the idea of the winner, Snail porridge and Egg and Bacon Ice Cream are two of their delicacies...

Note that Mel's Caff where I have my brekkers is not listed. These people wouldn't know good food if it's on a plate right in front of 'em. ::) :D

Maybe just as well or she would get big ideas & I couldn't afford to eat there. ;)

And once i get my license and a car, i shall be making that short trip ;D

Doug, you could make cheese on toast, add a bit of grass and give it a fancy name and they would pay a ton for it ::) The one time i have had the pleasure of eating at one of these types of places, i found it awful.

actually there are more of the "best" in the UK than any othe nation  :P

sod these "fine dinning" establishments, minute portions and ludicrous prices... gimmie a decent sized well done steak for a fraction of the price and I'm happy  8)

Come to Arthur's Tavern in Hoboken, NJ- big, cheap steaks and liter mugs of beer!! Urp!!! And although I think they're now offering garden salads, for years the only sides available were: hash-brown potatoes, a bowl of cole slaw, or half a head of iceburg lettuce with oil&vinegar and some blue cheese crumbled on top! They also do lobster, but it's not the best around...
Why do I get the feeling that this "best of" list was published in the UK? Not a single New Orleans restaurant on the list- tsk, tsk.
