I don't want a blog. But I feel like I SHOULD have a blog. I feel like everyone in the world except me has a blog. I don't like feeling left out. But at the same time, I don't want to type endlessly into my blog and have no one read my blog. How does one market their blog?
But what is the point of a blog? Do I just type like it's my diary? And don't tell me it's a journal. A wise man once said, "Lewis and Clark had a journal. You have a diary." (Note: The wise man didn't say that to me. I have neither a journal nor a diary.)
Can anyone give me some insight into this pressing matter?

From what little I know about these things a Blog is much the same as an online diary. As I was never any good with keeping diaries it's no use to me at all.

Not sure I like the idea of sharing my personal life with all & sundry. Anyone viewing this forum knows quite enough about me, maybe too much.

Scott, I recently joined the croud and made my own blog, you can get the link in my signature. And I can tell you, it's pretty fun. I only know of one person who actualy reads my blog regularly, but you can attract more. On the site I'm on, you can join 'Blogrings', it's basicaly just differant groups that you can join of people with the same interest as you.
It's not for everybody, but I just do it because it's fun.

That's the thing, Hagar. I've created this brilliant, albeit completely falsified, exciting life that I live. Truth is, there's nothing exciting in our lives at all. My blog would read "Today we went fishing. We caught two fish."
Zzzzz....
So I'm thinking a slightly political/satirical blog. Sort of like my views and rants on certain issues in a comedic sort of way. I'd love to do something like that, but what's the point if no one reads it? lol

I would read it Scott!

If your Blog is good, people will find out about you and start reading. I say go for it!

...But it's up to you...

Sure Omag. Then readers could drink decaf coffee or a non-alcoholic beer while chewing on a piece of sugar free gum.
Ick. It's not a roller coaster without the hills and loops.

The way I see it there are those who like keeping a diary & those who don't. We all lead pretty ordinary lives but when I look back I sometimes wish I'd at least kept a few notes of the more interesting things I've done. In just the same way, I wish I'd taken a few photos. While I accepted these things as normal at the time, when you add them all together I've had a pretty interesting life. I've seen a lot of things that others can only dream of & had a few really exciting moments. If I could remember the details it might even make an interesting book. Everyone seems to write biographies now & I'm sure my life is more interesting than some "celebrities" I could mention who haven't even lived yet. All this remains in my memory for as long as my memory lasts but I can't share it with anyone.

I think the author of a blog should have a really special writting-style to catch my attention. Beeing very witty, make good points and write about the not so plane stuff. People who lead "different" lives could interest me too. But I don't tend to read 'em now...

lol like you're gonna have that kinda time. Well, you will 'til you're off reserve. But once you're a lineholder, you won't until you're VERY senior. lol

I had one for about an hour. It sucked. There's really no point to them. The only people who read it were my friends that are girls (had to phrase that correctly

). I see no point in them.

Mm.. If you've ever heard of myspace.com, there's a lot of girls there. You can add people to your "friends list" and they usually contact you. It's not really an online dating thing, but a chance to meet new people.
I best prefer SimV.
