Speaking of flying some more, there was an article in a Plane & Pilot a while back that had a list of the worst crosswinds around. I forget which island it was, but Hawaii was one of the worst. (Or best, depending on your outlook) In fact they interviewed a CFI there and he said that on one high-wind takeoff, he clipped the top of a wave at the end of the runway (also the end of the island) and boogered up the prop, but didn't go for a swim.
So I again suggest going flying!!
