Music downloading question

Postby Ben_M_K » Wed Mar 16, 2005 5:00 pm

Hey there. My friend told me there is a new law where you can download free songs from the web as long as you don't burn them to cds. I don't think I believe but but I want to see what you guys think...

Nope, most certainly illegal to download songs unless the artist has given permission (some aspiring bands do release free stuff for download, and a lot of it is GOOD!).

Come to Canada.
As long as you don't upload, you can download all you want.

Why in canada>?>

Federal government made it law.
Uploading to a file sharing network is illegal, as far as I know.
But downloading from a file sharing network is perfectly legal.

And yes, I'm very right.

All the P2p, file sharing programs I have come across do exactly that....
They share files..... ;)....!

From what I have experienced in the past...

All the time you are connected to the P2P site, and downloading music programs, the File Sharing program allows other users, using the same program, to upload music files, in their search engine, from your computer, automatically... ;)...!

So while you are downloading their programs...they are uploading your programs... :o...!

Which is why I have removed all my free file sharing program, and deleted the entries in my Windows directories from my computer....
...before the "Heavy Gang" come knocking on my door... :'(...!
LOL...!

Cheers all...!

Paul.

The "pay-for-your-download" sites are OK... 8)...!

Can't say I know much about immagrating to Canada, nor the expenses of doing such.
Canada also isn't the cheapest country to live in either.

But whenever I hear about immigrants,
it's always about how they're getting deported and such jazz.
Probably the result of not filling out their perminint residency papers.
That, or falsely declaring their intentions at the border.

I've heard you need about 4000 $ (or was that 40000$?) to be allowed to immigrate.

Don't feel like adding it all up right now.
Though that wouldn't be to hard.

Here is the link to Citizenship and Immigration Canada fees page.
That site should also help anybody considering moving to Canada.

If your going to pay $40,000 to move to canada just to download music then you might aswell stay where you are and just buy the albums instead. :P

Well Mr. Fozzer, geographically speaking.
When we use our computers to communicate to each other.
You're sitting farther north than me.

Bears + Fir Trees + Snow And Cold = Good Times

As for Canada being to close to the US.
Think about how close the UK is to other countries... like France.

Also, at the rate of which immigrants are coming into the country, I'd say they're being downloaded.
