We mustn't forget C. D. Geezer who directed some of the finest dutch films of the '70's and '80's ;)

David Lean and Guy Hamilton would come pretty high on my list... but then again they're probably better known by the younger members of this forum, such as Foz and Hagar... ;D

Are you sure you're not me? We seem to think very much alike. You're old before your time. :D

I could name plenty of other outstanding film directors most members of this forum have probably never heard of.

Notice my Ex-wife isn't on the list, although no movie credits to her name, she has a knack at directing people to do things they don't want :D

I think that's its time to watch "The Sound Barrier" again. Its a shame, but looking on the internet, it now seems to be a very misunderstood film - certainly on one or two sites they appear to think of it as an equivalent to something such as U-571. People don't seem to realise that really it is a parallel to the real life De Havilland family (designer losing son in plane crash, another aircraft crashing on a sound barrier attempt (as DH's son did in 1946))

A brilliant film none the less...
