The next generation.
And ding dong Enterprise is dead. :)
Maybe now Berman and Braga will be fired. Oh and there latest movie plan for ST calls for a completely new crew and setting. Anyone wanna guess how big a flop that will be? If it doesnt include the name Enterprise then its going to fail.

I think Voyager is my all-time favorite, but I don't know why.

Here's how I rank them:

1) Voyager
2) Next Generation
3) Star Trek
4) Deep Space 9
5) Enterprise - by far

I really liked all of them except Enterprise, it just wasn't that good.

Enterprise was a great series. RIP :(

I'm betting the new movie will be based on the Capt Calhoun/USS Excalibur stories...very different. :)

I thought Enterprise was worth saving. I didn't care much for some of the back story but over all I enjoyed it. Interesting idea for the next film and not a bad idea. Get to see Cmd. Shelby again.
Tough call but in the end I voted TNG because some of my all time favourite Trek shows came from TNG.

Rumored to center around the Romulan war, which took place prior to the original series, the film currently doesn't even have a tentative release date
Well thats the latest. Once again Berman is going to try a prequel. I wish he wouldn't. He doesnt know Star Trek history, and seems to think he can re-write it whenever he pleases. Time to give Star Trek an extended break.

I don't know if anyone really knows "Star Trek history."  I haven't looked into it too much-but it does seem like there is a lot of conflicting things they say went on.  I don't know, maybe thats because I have seen a lot of Berman's work and he did all that conflicting.   ;D

Star Trek history needs revisions!

"Originally", the Romulan War took place prior to warp drive. Fascinating, they used generation ships to travel hundreds of years to get at each other so they could spend hundreds of years getting home!

There are many "parallel" timelines in Star Trek already, Berman can't confuse things by adding a few more. :)

Since your average trek fan wont know about the original Romulan war, what appeal will it hold to your average movie go'er?

Remember, Capt Archer was at the 'Birth of the Federation', as seen in Enterprise.

One can suspect that the Romulan War must take place before that...which means that Enterprise will be the flagship. :)

As for appeal...a movie centred around the war will have plenty of action...draw enough for many.

I cant go into the Enterprise NX-01 name debate again ;) And this is where problems will arise. It must  happen after the Enterprise series, because they didnt know who the Romulans were during the series, apart from an encounter in that minefield. Which means they may aswell have just used the Enterprise crew, i dont like them but hell at least they are now established with the series. They cant get away with using a ship called Enterprise in the movies without Picard or Kirk being the guy in charge. Berman has completely taken the Star Trek product away from Gene Roddenburys original plan.  I am interested in seeing where they go with it, but i wont be lining up for its first showing.

Well, prior to the original series, the Enterprise 1701 was commanded by a Captain Pike.  I think he was the plankowner commander of the ship.  Now prior to the Constitution Class cruisers, I have no idea what Enterprise looked like or who crewed her. Was there a more advantanced Enterprise class between NX and Contitution Class?  As I recall, the adventures in Enterprise occured about a century prior to the timeline of the Original series.  That would leave enough time for ships of more advanced design than NX1 to carry the name Enterprise. At least one class.  Although, with upgrades and retro fitting the NX-1 Enterprise could have easily flown til the introduction of the Constitution Class.  i could see better engines in her with warp 8 top end, energy based deflector sheilds, phasers, photons and the whole array.

When it comes to the history of the Enterprise. It all started with Pike and NCC1701. There were no other ships written before it called Enterprise. Others here have given the reason, well technically thats correct because there was no federation at the time of the NX-01 so that is what they can use to get past that. Which i will accept for the sake of avoiding argument and at least making Enterprise slightly watchable.

I got it. I know just what would work to bring life back into the most successful sci-fi series of all time.  A "new" original series.  Same characters, casted very carefully to provide that chemistry.  Contitution class enterprise but with all the sophistication that our modern special effects people can create. I guess what it would be would be original series characters and ship cimbined with more recent sets and technology, at least with-in the limits of the time line. Of course holo decks would be out, so would stick pin communicators.  But, you know the helm of the Enterprise should very much resemble the panel of a new G550. Glass all the way, touch screen, and you know, they always had way too many crew members.  I would think by the 22 century that space vehicles could all but fly themselves and think.  Andromeda?????  okay
