Oh dear. This is not far from me & I usually pass the school on my way to breakfast. Glad I was late & missed this. Don't ask me for photos as I have no intention of going there. Fortunately no children seem to have been hurt.

Two dead in school crane collapse

Two workmen have been killed and another seriously injured when a crane collapsed at a school building site.
Sussex Police said the crane fell down on the site of Durrington High School in Worthing, West Sussex, and another was in danger of toppling over.

With all the international events taking over the headlines it's easy to forget things like this happening closer to home.

There isn't a law which can prevent accidents unfortunately. I expect there was though >:(

Very sad - could have been worse as charlie said :(

I didn't expect this to be revived. I only posted it as I was shocked to hear it on the radio news. My home town is not often mentioned in the news headlines.

As Bird man says, you can pass as many laws as you like, when human beings are involved accidents will happen. Fact of life. I don't know much about it yet apart from the fact they were dismantling the crane when it fell over colliding with another one on the way down.

At least it didn't affect any children, that would have been really tragic.
