Snowing here in Kansas.  This is about signifigant snowfall #5 for my area.  I don't remember a time when it was this much cold weather.  I remember wearing shorts in january one year.

If this isn't global climate change, I don't know what is.

Well, as long as it just hits those responsible for it, I'm not bothering much.

Actually, from what I've read and heard, these temperature fluctuation are normal.

The fact the the mean surface temperature of the earth has increased by about 1.1

If global warming is true then as the temperature increase the polar ice caps will start to melt.  This will dump a huge amount of cold water into the north atlantic which will switch the atlantic conveyor inbto overload.  This will have the knock on effect of switching off the Gulf Stream which will make the average temp in the UK drop to the same as that of Canada.

So global warming increases temp but we in the UK get colder.  That's life I suppose.

That's just one theory Will. Just wait until we get the next heatwave & they'll be telling us the exact opposite. The fact is that they don't know what will happen any more than we do. ::)

I don't believe in it Doug.  We know that winters were colder between 1066-1500 than they are now and CO2 emissions have only been "high" for the last 40-50 years. As you say it's a cycle, please note that in my last post I say "if Global warming is true."

Duly noted. Wish I hadn't dumped all my old school textbooks. Reading them now would be quite an "education". ::) ;)
