I thought the show was better than the game. :)

Just imagine, you pay big bucks to go to a Paul McCartney concert and they throw in a free footbal game!

meh it was ok, kind of a downer with hey Jude, but since that was a big hit song, I suppose it was an ok show...

Well, given the Broohaha that last year's show caused, did you really expect anything interesting?!

Be glad it wasn't worse.  Whenever those whose purpose it is to make the rest of the world fall in step with their version of Christianity, Islam, etc. get to close to government, media tends to lend a whole new definition to the work boring.

Oh and before anyone accuses me of being anti-Christian, anti-American, etc., what do you think life was like under the Taliban, or Iran for that matter.  Do a little Google search for Colorado City and Mormons.

Think there's anything remotely interesting happening there (other than child abuse)?

Paul was definitely not lipsyncing... I'm in the business, and I can tell. Some of my roomies doubted he'd hit the high notes, but I hushed 'em, and was proven right.  He looks and sounds great for an old fossil, ;)  and that band he's got is awesome- especially that drummer! Not a rebel or cutting-edge artiste anymore, but definitely an honest old rocker, spreading goodwill and basking in the glow of an incredible career making unforgettable, immortal pop music. Could've used some more high parts in the harmonies, though... more cute girlie backup singers, Paul!! It's not like he can't afford 'em...

Here's a question, though... anybody else find it a bit distateful that "Sunday Bloody Sunday" was co-opted for an NFL promo? I mean, I get the tie-in, but did anybody consider what that song's about? I dunno, maybe I'm just getting old...

Good point- did you see the special "Simpsons" right after the game? They made exactly the same point... and made me LMFAO, as usual! :D

there was no way any women were going to get on that stage at halftime. We can thank last year for that one. Gonna be that way for a few years yet. ::)

I thought it was the best half time show in recent years-but I'm not a fan of the popular modern music.  Every year I turn it off during halftime because I can't stand the singer, this is the first one I've watched in several years-and I thought it was great.  But, I've always liked Paul McCartney.

certainly the best since U2's halftime show.

The whole thing is damn stupid.   ::)   America as a nation is so obsessed with... you know... boobies  :-[; they really want to see them, or show them off, but they really want to feel bad about it at  the same time.  Some of these warped prudes are even covering up classical sculpture...! God forbid the kiddies see even a glimpse of the perfectly natural object that was created to give us sustenance, innocent as Eve herself, yet they think nothing of letting them watch people get blown away on TV and in games whenever they like (I know some decry the violence, too, but...howzabout "Passion of Christ"? I heard about a woman who forced her absolutely mortified toddler to sit and watch, to reinforce her faith...even pried her little hands away from her eyes. Sick.). Then there's the ritualized combat of football itself. Doesn't bother me, but... they're all mixed up, these American mullahs.
Wonder if they know what the Superbowl means to gay sports fans (yeah, they're out there; they're not all sissies)?  Hooboy- if they did, they'd have the players in baggy pants, for starters!!  And all that tussling! Good heavens! :D

and dont forget the congratulatory pat on the butt, that too would have to be outlawed ::) I think part of the problem is they are trying to capture a world audience and they dont want to be seen as cheap porn. Although if you pay $3000 for a ticket like some fans you deserve some skin ::) but they seem to forget you could have naked cheerleaders out there playing football and most of the world wouldnt care. Then again as long as it keeps some no talent pop start who doesnt even know what a football is off the field i am all for it.

Yeah, it's a tricky thing, seeing as how football is definitely a thing for grown-ups and kids. The kids wanna see their idols and bond with Dad, and Dad and his friends want to see ritual combat, tantalizing cheerleaders, and close-ups of sweaty beer bottles. I'm not forgetting the Moms who go crazy for football either... they want a visceral, grown-up experience too (and a nod to anyone else I left out ;) ). How do you present all that without offending somebody?  My only beef with Ms. Jackson's "malfunction" is that it seemed contrived, just to create controversy. Thanks, lady... what IS it with that family?
Next year they should just have a motorcycle stunt or something...
