If this isnt reason enough for America to review its legal system i dont know what is.
This kid takes a course that anyone would have known involved a load of extra work, and then complains about it. Hell during my summer holidays i had a ton of homework to get done, that was in the space of 6 weeks, i know alot of schools in America get upwards of 3 months of holiday during summer, not all, but alot. Maybe next time this kid should stick to the lower level courses, and i hope he doesnt plan on college, because it'll be a shock to him when he realises his entire summer will be spent in classes.

Ha! Fortunately I don't live in the USA. No homework during any sort of holidays for me.

This is ridiculous. You don't take an honors calculus course and then sue someone for getting homework.  ::)

I'm tired of people teaching their kids that there are ways around the rules...they're gonna have a rude awakening once school is over.

No suprise really. Last year there was a local kid caught cheating on a final exam in High School. The teacher gave him a "F", the kid sued and won. Long story short -

yep, me and everyone else in my district (roughly 12,000 students) are required to read 3 books, 5 if in honors. these books arent the simple ones, oh no, we get 350 page books on histroy and things half the teachers could care less about, much less us.

it is true that we shouldn't get the stress of summer homewrok, it's supposed to be an interlude between the school years...

Quite right. I assume it still works in much the same way as in my day. If you want the qualification you have to work for it & make a few sacrifices. If he's not prepared to accept that I can't think why this chap signed up for the honours course in the first place.

350 pages. Wow, what is the world coming to?
I was always an avid reader. Devoured everything in print I could find. I couldn't do it now but when I was younger I reckon I could have read those 5 books in less than a week. I often had 2 books on the go at the same time, one at work for break times & the other one at home.

I can't help noticing that most youngsters nowadays when alone (in a cafe or somewhere) seem to sit there staring into space. I've offered them my newpaper to read but they invariably refuse & carry on daydreaming. No wonder they complain about being bored.

Yeah, 350 pages isn't really that big of a book, the last book I read was well over 1000 pages.

IDK it seems people over here sue for whatever they can...it really makes me PO.....I can see some people sueing in SOME situations but come on for getting homework thats just BS
