Huygens about to land!

The Europeane space-module is about to land on Titan (largest moon of Saturnus) in about 1 h 20 minutes. It will take shots from the surface of the moon while descending towards it. Scientists believe there could be rain, lakes and rivers of ... Methane... carefull there!  ;D

But it is one of the few places that have what it takes to create life!

I think this is pretty exciting!

I only hope it won't be the European Mars-landing all over again... Hello, probe? Are you there?  ;D

It's on our televisions tonight at 11:30 PM.

I've got Stephen Speilberg's "Duel" recording on one channel, (11:45 PM), while I watch the Huygens landing on the other channel... 8)...!

Two excellent programs... ;D...!

Cheers all...!

Just saw the pix from the surface of Titan on the ESA's Cassini-Huygens homepage! She made it!! Woohoo!! I was kind of hoping it would have splashed down in the methane sea and stayed afloat long enough for some photos of the shoreline or something, but  this is- stunning!! What an amazing piece of remote pilotage, setting this thing down in one piece on such a distant body!!! Cheers, NASA and ESA!!
  8) :o :D
