Detroit Pistons-Indiana Pacers Brawl...

Postby Wing Nut » Sat Nov 20, 2004 6:02 pm

Jesus, did anyone else see this?  What a mess that was...  I have never seen anything like this before in any kind of sport.  Even some of the soccer riots I've seen on TV weren't this bad.  ::)  Give some people some money and they think they can act however they want.  >:(

well what i have read suggests that players started fighting amongst themselves (not uncommon in sports) and then fans started throwing things at the players. As far as i am concerned they have no right what so ever to do that. Now depending on what they were throwing(i dont know this part) depends on the how nessicary the players decision to start fighting with the crowd was. If it was just empty beer cups or small chunks of food then it should have been ignored and let the cops deal with. However if it was something like coins bottles or anything else that could harm a person can you honestly blame them?

Seems all players are suspended indefinatly.
I have seen stuff like this at minor league hockey games.

But agree that these "pros" should know better than to go into the fans and start bashing on them.

I know it must be frustrating too be heckled by fans but that is why they are there, to play a game for the fans and they need to understand that they will be heckled.

I'm not saying the fans throwing anything was right, as a matter if fact those fans need to be suspended also, there is a differance between yelling obsenities and physically throwing objects, when you throw something you do it with intent to hit something or intent to injure.

Now give it a few days and you'll see these morons filing lawsuits for millions against the players and the NBA.

Me I'm suing for the effect it has had on my life, this has upset me more than Janets breast , I can't belive they showed this on television!! I'll never be the same!!
I hate too think what this has done to the children!

It was very entertaining to watch, they should allow fighting in all sports, and then penalize the players involved just like they do in Hockey, and if fans want to get involved it is at their own risk, if you want to get drunk and start something with a professional athlete and you end up getting your ass whooped, it's your own fault and you shouldn't be crying about it afterwards.

I believe the only way they will ever be able to stop the fans from intimidating the players is to stop selling alcohol at these sporting events.

I personally think that Ron Artest and that other bum who got in the fight should be kicked out of the NBA with a contract cut for what they did to those people... their is a HUGE difference between someone yelling at you and someone hitting you...

Apparently he didn't even have the right guy.  He kept hitting on the guy and asking him if he did it...  ::)
