It's kinda strange that the legend of Atlantis has continued through time. The reason it's strange is because the author who originated the legend (Plato) stated that it was in fact fictional. Imagine if 3000 years from now eveyone is looking for the lost planets from the Star Wars legend. Or, perhaps they'll be looking for fossil evidence of Smurfs.
Yes, sunken cities do exist. No, Atlantis specfically does not exist.
If this is Atlantis after all (mind you many scientists have claimed they have discovered the sunken city), I congratulate him. It does make sence since the coast of cyprus is just on the doorstep of greece (where Platon supposedly lived) I find it hard to believe that Platon traveled to the Caribbean or Azores :)
All myths have an element of fact to them. There are sunken citys. Alexandria being a good example. Atlantis is just one of many such storys.
