Philatelic delight

Postby ozzy72 » Thu Nov 04, 2004 3:47 pm

I've just heard that the US is issuing some cool new stamps for 2005 (I don't collect, but these rock!)... the Muppets 8)
Kermit, Miss Piggy et al will be available!!! And my favourite Swedish Chef ;D ;D ;D Now can anyone of my American cousins here tell me if they'll have Pigs In Space? 'Cos that is my second favourite.... oh and apparently there is a Ronald Reagan one as well.... no comment (after seeing Bedtime For Bonzo) ;D ;D ;D
Hooray for the US Postal service, leading the way in really silly (but utterly cool) stamps!

Sadly, this must mean that our muppet friends have passed...I'm surprised I didn't see something about it on the news.

Perhaps it was a tragic riding lawnmower accident which wiped them all out simultaneously.  Or maybe disease....the world may never know. :(
Great edit, Bob.

Google it.

lol, Ben, in the late 80's, early 90's there was a series I think it was (I was only about a month old...::)) called "The Muppets". Under direction of Jim Henson, it was a puppet-based show, and they also appeared a lot on Sesame Street.

I love the title they have in the Mercury News--

NEW CROP OF STAMPS INCLUDES MUPPETS

2005 SERIES HONORS REAGAN AND OTHERS

It's nice to know they put the Muppets before recently deceased presidents... :P

Jim Henson, their creator, died in 1990.   :(

Nope, not on U.S. postage stamps, although the post office has that thing going where you can make your own stamps and put anything (within reason) on them that you want, I'm not sure how that program is going or what the rules are.
Still no linked images allowed around here Paz! Naughty...
