What aircraft would you want to fly you around to campaign. Your not the President yet so you cannot use Air Force One

I'd want a 757 flying me around. Painted with an painting of the statue of liberty on the tail, and a waving flag along the hull.

I'd fly myself around in my TTC Conversion Super Otter. Appeal to the working folk. For campaigning in more urban areas I'd use the Falcon business jet.

Mr. Bush has the government-owned 747 but I think that would look a little ostentatious for a mere opposition candidate.  Not that his wife couldn't afford it.

I like the Gulfstream for short hops, although I think the press underestimated the cost of a 100 mile trip for the famous haircut at $5,000.  I doubt you could start the engines on a Gulfstream for $5,000.

I thought, though I'm not sure, that Mr. Kerry had a 737.  That would be fine for me for public appearances, but for a quick trip to the hairdresser's I'd take the Gulfstream.

If I really wanted to show the taxpayers I felt strongly about not mis-using their money I would fly my tour in a 150 ;)

It would also challange the F16s trying to stay with me ;D

Yes the Pres might have AF1, but taxpayers also pay for the other running canidate also ;)

Of course the candidate, being a former USAF fighter pilot, would choose a Harrier.  For it's ability to make VERY impressive "entries" to rallies and such right in front of the people.

When Arnold runs... maybe he will do that (see "True Lies")

best,

I would use a piper cub and drop leaflets from it over the cities and towns, while towing a banner that says,

Well for me it'd have to be a MkIX Spitfire of course!
But being a British Subject (hello stupid EU passport people there is no such thing as a British Citizen, we're a constitutional monarchy ::)) I wouldn't be allowed to become president, so err I'd get a Lancaster and lots of marmalade bombs and attack some important targets like err umm err the British Axis of Evil, France, Belgium and Switzerland for wot they said about our chocolate!!! ;D

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!
