It's a nice idea but it's a foolish idea that rebels are going to hand over their guns.

The ones that will hand over their weapons are those who don't need them. I.e. those peaceful citizens who have had a weapon since Saddams rule and can now see a chance to make a little cash.

Are you perchance an Iraqi rebel? ::)

I haven't read the article as you have to be an AOL member & use your screen name & password to read it. Being the cautious soul I am I don't give that information to anyone. However, I can guess what this is all about & agree with Woody. It's a ridiculous idea that could never work in 1,000 years.

Rocket propelled grenades -- $175 each

BKC medium machine gun -- $1,000

Sniper rifle -- $650

AK-47 rifle -- $150

RPK rifle -- $160

60 mm mortar -- $252

120 mm mortar -- $275

Hand grenades -- $5

wonder how they came up with the values, $5 for a weapon that can potentially wipe out dozens in one go  ::)

anyway like hagar said, its ridiculous to expect the rebels to hand over their weapons for cash, never mind for vouchers from a government they don't trust or support and likely never will  ::)

I know when they used to do that thing in the urban US they usually caused a rash of gun thefts.  I assume the same thing will happen here: instead of people selling their own guns they'll just steal other people's guns and sell them.

I would have thought they'd find it easier and cheaper to just ambush them and steal the coupons  ::)

Wow let's go get some. I need 4 ak-47's and 20 RPG's.

We can start a SimV malisha, and get rid of all the people who drive good members out of here.

Hmmm, a SimV militia... Doesn't sound all that bad.

We've already got a supreme commander.

But,according to his hand signals, he wants us to constantly push forward. That tactic didn't work during WW2 (Russia) and it won't work nowadays.

Militia - yes.
A (cute) furball as commander - no.
