If someone with multiple personality disorder threatens suicide, is it a hostage situation?

Thou shalt maintain thine airspeed lest the ground shalt rise up and smite thee

Right Doug, I agree.
The sky is too crowded already. What they need to do is develop an efficient transport system like in Japan. ::)

i say this everytime this subject has been mentioned to me. People struggle with driving cars, let alone driving cars safely. The last thing we need is the general public getting their hands on flying cars especially with the previously mentioned crowded skies.

If they (who ever does vehicle accident surveys) think too many people die/get injured in car accidents, I'd hate to see the death toll when people start flying.

I've read in Popular Science, that scientists have accomplished the first step in teleportation. They have developed the ability to have an atom on one side of the room, aquire the characteristics of an atom on the other side of the room. So far it's just a very fancy copy machine. Not too good for human transportation yet, but producing/delivering cargo? Hmm. Maybe in another 50-100 years we'll be "beaming" all over the world.

If you could do that the roads would be clear & you wouldn't need it. ;D

PS. I dread to think of all the old codgers round here getting their hands on one of these contraptions. Not to mention the boy racers & other idiots. :o ;)

ohh a new type of rice rocket? (joke)

I highly doubt this will really ever take the sky but its fun to spike peoples intrest in these types of things it makes them think positive about the future.

But i can already imagine on the news "Two boys got into an accident over the Airway 605, because of illegal air racing. It is believed that the teanager in the red Mitsubishi Hover car tried to load up his aircrat with Nitrous Oxyde, unfortunately, his plane developed carbourator ice and crashed right into the ainciet 605 freeway."

and while im at it, is poplular science any good? Im thinking of buying a subcription to a magazine about science or Aeronautics, but still don't know what to get.
Believe half of what you see, 1/4 of what you hear, and nothing that I say

Back in 1970, during the first weeks of university (1st year) I had a fellow believing that in Puerto Rico we used teleportation for local transportation, and we only had trucks and carriers for short-haul cargo.  The only reason we had airports and airplanes was to travel to the US because the US had no teleportation capability.

Of course, the fellow wasn't believing me, until another fellow chimed in that he'd visited me over the summer and that it was fun beaming about...

After a while, we let him down slowly....  (side bar:  the original Star Trek series was still very popular in re-runs, so the "bed was made")
