Movie: Collateral

This one blew me away.  It astounded me to find out that Jamie Foxx could act so well.  I was also very impressed with the timing the movie threw.  There were no unneeded scenes or throwaway dialogue, it all added up and made sense.

Along with great interaction, each character was fully fleshed-out.  Every time I started to wonder about a certain aspect of them, it was revealed in an entertaining and usually brutal way.  Tom Cruise is insanely good at playing a sociopath, and Jamie Foxx really is just an average Joe driving the cab.

If it wasn't for the fact that its one of the most dismal and freaky films I have seen this year, I would go out and buy it on DVD.

I highly recommend that you see this, if only for the cinematography.  It was filmed in High-Definition, which lends a certain realism to the whole thing.  Lots of the scenes are shot in the cab, and you get to see the surrounding scenery very well, which almost becomes a character in itself.

It was a good movie, but I liked 'The Bourne Supremacy' better ;)

And the only thing that annoyed me about 'The Bourne Supremacy' was the camera's moving around like it did, but other then that, I loved it

What I particularly appreciate about this movie is that they utilize music in a very purposeful way.  The songs that are played are varied and each has a meaning in the movie.  There is jazz that you can enjoy without interuption from the dialogue, as well as a track by Audioslave which fits well with the scenes.
